One thing you won’t find here: very old iPhones. What actually matters when buying a refurbished iPhone in 2026

1. Software support is the #1 thing — and every phone here has it.

At WWDC in June 2026, Apple confirmed iOS 27 (arriving September) for the iPhone 11 and newer — which means every model we sell is covered, most of them for years. As a rule of thumb, iPhones get 6–7 years of major updates from launch: an iPhone 13 (2021) realistically carries you through 2028, the 15 and 16 series well into the 2030s. Every year of remaining support is a year of new features, app compatibility and resale value.

2. Apple Intelligence splits the lineup in two

Apple’s AI features — writing tools, image generation, the new AI Siri — require an iPhone 15 Pro or newer (15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models). Everything below that line runs iOS 27 perfectly well, just without the AI layer. If AI matters to you, the cheapest ticket in is the iPhone 16 at €589; if it doesn’t, the mid-range is where the value lives.

3. USB-C arrived with the iPhone 15

Every model from the 15 onwards charges via USB-C — one cable for your iPhone, iPad, MacBook and most other electronics. The 14 series and older use Lightning. Not a dealbreaker either way, but if you’re building a one-cable life, the 15 is where it starts.

4. Battery health matters more on a used phone than any spec

5. Cameras: know which jump is real

The genuinely noticeable steps: any standard model → a Pro (telephoto zoom lens), and 13 Pro → 14 Pro (the 48MP main sensor). Between adjacent standard models the difference is modest — don’t pay €100 more for a camera bump you won’t see.

Why don’t you sell older iPhones like the 11 or 12?

We’d rather sell you a phone we’re confident will still be great in three years. The SE 2022 is our one budget exception, because its modern chip gives it an unusually long life for its price.
